Scheduling a Workshop
Because the SERTS program uses real research laboratories, we need to be considerate of the needs of the laboratory. Workshopss are scheduled in an unusual manner as compared to other courses.The course instructor prepares a menu of workshops from information provided by the Workshop Leaders. This menu contains a brief description of the topic each Workshop Leader will cover and the days and times when the Workshop Leader is available to meet with students. Students are asked to review the menu and to identify 2-3 Workshop Leaders who offer sessions which are compatible with their schedules. The instructor compiles all of this information and informs the students as to which workshop they have been assigned.
