ANSWER:
No. Presumably, if you are interested in teaching a course as part of the SERTS program, you are already interested in designing a course that will help enhance students’ scientific literacy and critical thinking skills. It is not the goal of SERTS to micromanage your course. The goal of SERTS is to introduce students to the process and culture of basic research through the use of the research-based workshops. You will need to take a few minutes out of a couple of lectures to explain what the SERTS workshops are and what is expected of the students.
